Centrum Hotel offers a variety of rooms and studio apartments, located in downtown Akureyri, North Iceland. All the rooms and studios have a private bathroom and other standard facilities to make your stay comfortable. The hotel is a self-check-in accommodation, however, our staff is always happy to help if needed.

We have an on-site casual restaurant on the ground floor, serving both lunch and dinner. Our menu is varied, but with an emphasis on fish and meat. We also have an excellent cocktail menu with carefully crafted drinks made by our skilled bartenders. Don’t miss out on our daily offers on food and drinks, including happy hour from 16 – 19 every day.

Modern Studio apartments

Centrum Hotel offers four types of studio apartments for 3-4 persons.  All the studios at Centrum Hotel feature a private bathroom with a shower and a kitchenette. Some of the studios also feature a balcony, overseeing Akureyri’s main street. Other amenities feature a flat-screen TV, clothes rack and toiletries. Bed linen and towels are provided.

Wifi is available in all Centrum Hotel studios.

Centrum Hotel is a self-check-in accommodation. After booking, you will be provided with a booking confirmation and a few days before your check-in you will be provided with necessary check-in information along with phone numbers that you can call if you need assistance.

Great Stay!

Had a really great stay at Centrum Hotel. We were welcomed by the owners and were upgraded to one of their newly refurbished rooms. It was spacious and even had a kitchenette and a balcony – wish we stayed longer than one night so as to utilize these amenities. The bed was very comfortable and the location, right in the heart of Akureyri was excellent. Communication prior to check-in was also very good. I would not hesitate to return.

The BEST hotel we had in all of Iceland!!

This was the best hotel we stayed in during our entire trip- it’s clean, large, kitchen well equipped, comfortable, great location with parking close by. We would have stayed there another night if we could. I definitely recommend it! Thank you Centrum hostel for a wonderful stay!

Great hosts and nice apartment

We had people that were disturbing our peace on a weekend away and the management dealt with it brilliantly and were really nice. Our apartment was central and everything was in walking distance. Clean and nice as well. Overall a great experience and would recommend to all travellers!

Amazing hotel in prime location

Lovely clean rooms with amazingly comfortable beds! Really friendly, helpful owners. In the centre of Akureyri near to lots of restaurants. Would highly recommend and will definitely be staying here again!

Excellent hotel with great staff

This hotel is in an excellent location. You walk out your door and you are in the main pedestrian street of Akureyri, within walking distance to most of the tourist sights and restaurants. Because it is on a pedestrian street, there is no parking on site. You must park on the street around the corner or they can tell you a place to park. But the best thing about the hotel is its staff. The girl who checked us in was so kind. She gave me invaluable advice, even showing me pictures of where to go and tips on what to do. Beds were comfortable, standard types in Iceland. There was a shower in the room, but no tub. There was a nice sitting area in the lobby, but no elevator. Price was higher than we pay at home, but everywhere in Scandinavia is like that. I would stay here again
